Rhizome is India’s first multidisciplinary sustainability design studio, founded in 2009. The studio believes that sustainability needs to be looked at holistically and in a manner that acknowledges that the realities in the global south are different from those in the global north, in order to be mainstreamed in India. This is why they work at the intersection of craft, design, and sustainability. Sustainability is not just an add-on to their design brief—it is central to it.
